          The RAF contribution to the Syrian migrant crisis is rather small in comparison to that of their Russian equivalents (who are still there now). Just because someone in the common room said it's all the fault of the F***ing Tories, doesn't make it so. In this case, it isn't; you might want to read that speech again, so here's a link:

                    One wonders what the French authorities are doing about the gangs who are making c.£100k every time a boatload of twenty or so makes the crossing, whether or not they are caught, or worse, drown. They are the real cause of the problem.
                    So where does this purported 5000pp figure come from? Presumably someone must have asked a refugee how much they paid, if so, was their a follow-up question as to how they came up with this amount of money? Inquiring minds would be interested to the whole story behind this figure...
