      Not sure if this is business/professional/hobby but if you don't lots of beef, I would use Owncloud on a suitable server. Even an RPi in your house. It will be fast enough so long as only 2 or 3 people are active at the same time. Your upload speed will be a limiting factor.

          Any suitable pc (in terms of CPU power) will do.

          Get Linux on it with:

          samba
          openvpn
          any encrypted file system

          And yes, you will need to hook it up to at least 50 Mb/s upload channel.
