Scottish Named Person Scheme breaches European Human Rights

Scheme viable but needs to fall in line.

You would have thought the SNP would have followed a good EU charter correctly. They will be clamouring to leave now.

    Thanfullly.

An absolute fook up of a law created by an arsery of a government. Of course the SNP claim it changes nothing but the whole policy is completely fecked now.

Good thing too, it was a creepy, sinister attempt to nationalise family life and make every child in effect wards of the state.

Just to add to the one party state behaviour of the government quite a few elected members of the SNP claimed that the people that were against it were the people with the most to hide.

        it's like East Germany.

Brexit was a vote to leave the EU. Not the Council of Europe. ECHR is a Council of Europe thing, not an EU thing. Switzerland, Iceland and Norway, for example, are members of the Council of Europe.

Any step towards a UK without a data protection law would require the UK to withdraw from the Council of Europe and its European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), something that Mrs. May has categorically stated will not happen under her watch as Prime Minister.

I hope that clears up your confusion.

            1. European bill of human rights have NOTHING what so ever to do with the EU
            2. Britain want to suspend these anyway

The Tories have a MSP who is a Professor of Law.

Just reading his twitter timeline from today (@ProfTomkins ) as he explains to the SNP MSPs that the policy as written is finished ( which they deny ), whilst receiving lots of advice on law from the nationalist anger chimps.

I didn't realise that a state nominee would adopt the sole authority for matters such as choosing a school and consenting to medical treatment. That's terrifying!

They wanted to drop the intervention level from "at risk" to "wellbeing" and the possible intervention categories are numerous, "included" and "nurtured" for instance. The government admitted in court that the named person could become involved if the child was unhappy with their bedroom wallpaper.

Children are being told that we all live in a happy garden and parents are gardeners where as named persons are head gardeners.

                  The whole thing is madness.
