Fergus Wilson BANS single mothers and battered wives from becoming tenants | Daily Mail Online

One must keep up the standards mustn't one?

Sounds fair. I bet half the lot here with BTL would put up the same kind of conditions.

It should be illegal to discriminate in such a way, AFAIK he was setup as a Ltd business, how the fook was he able to discriminate like that???

1 and 2 appear fine, but 3-11 have double negatives. I'm not sure where he's gonna find single battered smoking plumbers with kids and pets who are on benefits though. Kind of reduces his market somewhat.

Edit - apart from in Wales, obvs...

none of those are illegal AFAIK.

Wonder why he is so selfish not wanting to be a social worker?

Nearly every time you take a chance you get screwed, they surprise you how low they can drag you.

Note despite my craggy exterior I'm almost as soppy as the wife and we end up with various people crashing on the couch / running round after them.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Why the No Plumbers rule? That's most odd - it's usually great to have a tradesman as a tenant because they can fix the house up themselves!

scope creep / fishing expeditions apparently. He could just say no.
