There's a house in Mousehole (IIRC) with a plaque commemorating the last person to have had Cornish as their sole language.

She died in 1930 (again, IIRC).

One of the defining events of my student days was Eurovision related.

We were all on our way back from Clovelly and as we were bowling along the top of the Polden Hills (cheers, Reg) news came in that Katrina and the Waves had won Eurovision '97.

We all piled into the Toby Inn belting out Walking on Sunshine at the top of our voices and proceeded to get smashed on Cherry B.

All too passed to drive, we kipped in the pub car park after having indulged in a right royal bonking session first.

    Oh, the memories....

As long as Auntie keeps coughing up £350,000 for it, we'll be invited.

If we leave Eurovision, they could spend that money on hospital dramas. invest it in essential services put it towards a reduced licence fee for wealthy contractors wives.
