Anyone can join in, but if you pay £350,000 you don't have to qualify. In these cash strapped times I vote for the Beeb to leave it to qualification for our team. survival of the fittest etc.Comment

Back on topics, my old music master actually entered A Song For Europe back in 1976 (before I was one of his charges).
He wasn't successful but later found fame as one half of Marshall Haine with their 1978 smash Dancing In The City.
