    Best,

    Milan.
    The Government requires a bill.

The bill could be "very short indeed" according to the ruling.

The Government does not need to consult the devolved administrations, let alone get their approval.

The ruling has clarified this. Bless the Miller woman for spending her own money on this for us.

Remain in a UK that is part of the EU. Nice dodge though..

I don't think that was the question.

"Should Scotland be an independent country?"

No mention of the EU there.

A future referendum would leave Scotland very independent - independent of the UK, independent of the EU and independent of the WTO, with zero capability to trade anywhere.

Scottish people are wthin the EU as a result of their status within the United Kingdom. Scotland is not a member of the EU, it could not take over the UK's status (as the UK would have no EU membership in the unlikely event that Scotland voted to leave the UK). The UK people voted to LEAVE the EU. Scottish people are UK people. End of.

Perhaps Leeds should remain in the EU? Or Guildford? Or Wealden? After all, they voted to remain on a micro level also.

The constituency where I live, in 2015, voted Labour, not conservative. Perhaps the Conservative government do not represent us?

Why on earth would they not be able to trade anywhere?

You do realise that your opinion is not dictating reality? Stating your interpretation and saying "End of" doesn't actually make it more factually accurate. We've just seen with the whole A50 challenge that even seemingly simple things like how the referendum vote is implemented is legally unclear, and when it comes to international diplomacy it's really about what the various parties are happy to agree on. If the EU wants to let Scotland in off the back of its UK membership, it'll happen. If EU/UK both want a free trade agreement, it'll happen. If Scotland goes independent and can get EU to sign a separate "Soft Brexit" deal with free trade and free movement of people, they can access the common market and get the benefits of membership without formally being a member.

If the house votes against it then I'm sure an election would follow. Then you would have to live with outcome.

I think you will be safe in that the house will allow a50 to be triggered.

Stop being obtuse. You know full (or you should) EU residents in Scotland swung the vote to remain because they knew Scotland could then leave the EU. That's now going to happen anyway.

Scotland should be actively looking to remain a part of the EU that independent of the UK.
