Records began with the EU probably. Greece, Portugal and Spain have always had high yoof unemployment.
None of them wants to leave the EU. Greece was given the choice in 2015 and declined

Not going to happen, Brexit has been a salutary lesson for the others.
Here are some recent quarterly growth figures:

And when you look at the British growth figure, keep in mind that QE was reintroduced the day after the Brexit vote and that credit card debt and other personal borrowing is at record levels
Anyone who lives on the continent, know it won't be happening because of the amount of cross border employment, hundreds of thousands cross the border everyday to go and work in companies a few miles away in a different country. Absolutely no way does anyone want queues back at the border not to mention the increase bureacracy and uncertainty over pension contributions etc.

It's like the soft border in Ireland. Hard borders won't be coming back.

Youth unemployment in Spain was around 40% in the early 1990's, well before it joined the Euro. Spain's problems are home grown. Even the Ukraine had similar levels in the late 1990's.

Basically you don't need to be in the EU to run a sh*te economy.

Until the Treasury realised not enough tax was being paid into government coffers.

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
