One silver lining to Brexit - the NHS as it exists will probably disappear

Theresa May refuses to rule out private US firms taking over NHS services | The Independent

So at least one good thing comes out of it
    Hard Brexit now!

Yeah, the one country we'd want to model our healthcare system on is clearly the US. Not.

The US can't give the NHS any money though:

Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Fecksake can't we copy Australia or another country where their healthcare system works.

            You mean like our own?

Given that the country is broke, what would you sell off instead?

Beggars can't be choosers. We've left the EU and can't survive on our own, as the economy is too weak.
The logical thing then is to become the de facto 51st state of the US, in all but name.
                That's clearly where we're heading.
Plus the Tories will make lots of money from NHS privatisation.

God knows the NHS needs reform, but along the lines of France or Germany not the fooking US.
Still even a US style system is better than the existing one. For those of us who can pay, of course.

If you think the NHS system is working fine you're in la-la land.
Obviously you must be healthy yourself and/or don't know any unhealthy old people.
                  Lucky you.

Australians, Dutch etc expect to pay more to their healthcare and don't expect everything to be provided through the state (universal) system. I know some Australians who have come here have expected to have to pay for private healthcare as well due to their earnings.
