Don't think it's running, it's solving. What happens is everybody realises the problem is still there when you left. Bullies can't be reasoned with. The only thing they'll understand is isolation when everyone else chooses to ignore them.

If the PM has a dysfunctional member in his team, he should be made aware of it. Someone being there years isn't an indicator of success on its own, especially as a contractor.

Just to add - Apparently the "lead" was fired/ made redundant from his previous role due to similar issues.

I'm not advocating a shoot out, simply that you shouldn't ditch a contract when you don't have to. If you spend your life running from problems, it's quite sad.
Agreed either take it on full on, or let them hang themselves, as you deem appropriate.

Every situation needs to be handled differently, however.

              Just a sec

              Hold the horses

Can we have the other Contractor's side of the story

Metallica, tell the other Contractor you're discussing the situation on CUK and the boyz want to hear his side of the story.

Tell him to setup a CUK account and update this thread with his side

I'd love to hear both sides

              Milan.

p.s. so far it all sounds a little bit diddums

And while we wait for the other side of the story, can we actually have some situation examples, like,

Metallica was asked to do this, then the other Contractor did this and blah blah blah

                We need some facts

                Milan.

The problem is we both are contractors, he is more of "technical lead" sort of manager and has been around much longer than me.
The guy who has hired me is a permie and has known me for a while as I have worked with him in the past. He sits above this contractor lead and is the main PM.

In a permie set up, I know what the options would be. But in contracting world not really sure ! the client can simply say f off to me or both. Their priority will be project delivery.

                  Thoughts? How to approach?
You first mistake is allowing yourself to be managed by a contractor. You don't want to report into a contractor if you can avoid it.
