        We have enough examples in History that didn't work.

        We had an era of dictators at the same time, like Pinochet, Mussolini, Stalin, Hitler... e.g.

          Just because the 'solution' the population throws up doesn't solve any problems doesn't invalidate his argument. People perceive things aren't being fixed, someone offers them a solution and someone to blame...

            Look at Gaddafi and Hussein - provided stability to Libya and Iraq; absolute chaos without them.

              Things were fairly stable under Stalin too. A stable level of food, fear, etc.
