      Milk floats.

The concept of company loyalty (Employer to Employee)/a job for life.

      Seats on trains/reasonable ticket prices.

A lack of unnecessary street furniture/warning signs.

BBC Learning zone after midnight with them beared unix administrator types.

Kids playing properly instead of zombie staring into a phone/tablet.

A monopoly of big breweries brewing flat tasteless bitter.

      Chimneys, factories, heavy industry.

Those shops that sold dry food in big bins and you fill paper bags.

      Bottle deposits.

Space to work on an engine under a car bonnet.

          Not decent threads, though.

I think there are a few but they're more like mobile newsagents?

Sure you do, just not in your middle-class enclave. Or maybe it's a southern thing, you're all terrified of fiddlers? You see it a lot up here although sometimes you wish they would go inside

Yeah they moved onto lager and cider

Again, plenty round here. My client's offices are right in the middle of it, the drive in is really neat past the chimneys.

Chimneys? My house has four chimneys! g

Horse drinking troughs - Used to see loads of them round the suburbs of London in the '60s, and some even worked ISTR.

"People drinking troughs" in offices - You'd press a button and purse your lips to slurp water from the resulting dribble issuing from a small tap in the middle of a stainless steel bowl.

"Tracing paper" bog paper, with "Now wash your hands please" printed across each sheet.

Working red phone boxes (although I know two people with one in their garden as an ornament)

MF still has some souvenir sheets printed with 'Property of Isle of Wight Vulnerable Offenders Unit'.

You can still get Izal, aka John Wayne bog paper.

Tough as nails and takes no sh¡t.
