    Agency asking for info

Just been asked for this info for a new contract role:

    1. Full Name
    2. Address, Personal Email, Telephone Number,
    3. Notice period
    4. 3 references (won't be contacted without your permission to do so.
    5. Right to work in U.K. - passport and national insurance number.
    6. Date of Birth
    7.scanned copy of passport

Kind of set alarm bells going for me. Whats the deal with NI/Passport information when working through your own Limited company?

    Cheers,
    James

On this point, they are lying to you.

If they want references then anyone who has known you for a few years who isn't related to you and is in a decent sounding profession will do. Plus if you volunteer for anything the organiser would be a good reference.

If they insist they have to be former end-clients then ignore them.

If you posted this in the right section of the forums you would have seen a sticky titled 'Agencies demanding extra information: new reporting requirements' which would have answered your question.

          The sticky is here.

          http://forums.contractoruk.com/accou...uirements.html

Regarding references... you will also find a sticky titled 'I just need to get two references ...' which will cover item 4 in great detail

          The sticky is here.

In the FAQ/Welcome part of the forums where first posts tend to happen you'll find yet another sticky titled 'CUK Netiquette: A guide for newbies' which will give you some information about looking around the forums first to see if you question has been answered before

          The sticky is here.

But I can post what I like in General and expect serious responses.
