I thought that was the tempo we're going for these days, brexit in all?

This is probably fake news according to you. Shuttled off in a van, not even allowed to collect her belongings. Albeit nothing to do with Brexit, but this is a shameful direction the UK is taking. Utterly shameful.

Woman deported to Singapore despite 27-year marriage

A woman who has been married to a British man for 27 years has been deported to Singapore.

Irene Clennell was being held in a Scottish detention centre, but has now told the BBC she has been sent back to her country of origin without warning.

Mrs Clennell had been living near Durham with her husband before being detained, and has two British sons, as well as a granddaughter, in the UK.

The Home Office said it did not comment on individual cases.

Woman faces deportation after 27 years
Mrs Clennell told the BBC she was put in a van and taken to the airport from the Dungavel Detention Centre in South Lanarkshire on Saturday.

She had been held at the facility since the start of February.

She told the BBC she was unable to contact her lawyer and did not have the chance to get any clothes from her home.

      Detention centre
Mrs Clennell was being held in the Dungavel Detention Centre in South Lanarkshire.
Mrs Clennell, who had been living in Chester-le-Street, was given indefinite leave to remain in the UK after her marriage.

But periods spent back in Singapore caring for her elderly parents appear to have invalidated her residential status.

She says she has made repeated attempts - both in Singapore and in the UK - to re-apply for permission to live with her husband.

Mrs Clennell says her husband is in poor health and she has become his principal carer.

A Home Office spokesman said: "All applications for leave to remain in the UK are considered on their individual merits and in line with the immigration rules.

"We expect those with no legal right to remain in the country to leave."

The charity Migrant Voice says a campaign is starting to bring her back to Britain.

Director Nazek Ramadan said her case was "yet another example of how arbitrary policies tear apart families and ruin lives".

For balance, go and have a look at a Rangers forum and see if you would really look at either to gain an insight into a country's politics.

Many people in Scotland would be insulted to have their social opinion/status compared to, even if not directly, to the ideology of a loony football sectarianism.

It's like me saying Sadiq Khan is a fully paid up member of ISIS.

Yeah imagine that a European country deporting 42,000 people with no right to remain.

Migrant crisis: Angela Merkel announces plan to deport 100,000 failed asylum seekers | World | News | Express.co.uk

Regretting something, Angela? Germany's Merkel announces plan to deport 100,000 migrants

ANGELA MERKEL today announced plans to deport 100,000 migrants who arrived in Germany last year as she continues to backtrack on her controversial open door asylum policy.
            Shocking imagine that.

Just in case you think its fake...

Merkel, under pressure, stresses need to deport failed asylum-seekers | Reuters

Contemplating a bid for a fourth term, Merkel could alleviate some of the pressure on her by deporting many of the 215,000 migrants who have so far been denied rights of residency -- either forcibly or by providing financial enticements.
            shocking.....

We will write to Angela and ask if they can keep you as a special favour.

I can imagine what it said. A Celtic forum is liable to be absolutely full of IRA supporting c**ts like Minestrone.

A Rangers Forum is also likely to be full of Nazi saluting, Union Jack waving f**knuggets wanting to kill the pope and singing God Save The Queen.

You're choosing to look at one side cause it suits your argument.

Nope. I pointed out a tie between Scottish and Irish nationalism. Yes or no?

                  It's not the same.

Merkel is kicking out people who have been around for up to a couple of years, but we are chucking out people who have been in the UK for years with a partner and chikdren.

This isn't new btw from the UK to kick out people who have been here for decades but normally the government of the day didn't kick out people with British children and/or a British partner in living in the UK.

In a minority of low IQ f**kwits, yes. But, as I pointed out, you will find the same on both sides. I could equally say that support for the union is linked to Nazis and the KKK.

No its far worse but ScooterScot accused the UK of being unreasonable and his host country is doing far worse.

Are you saying Germany doesn't deport people who have no right to remain? Pretty sure they do and there will be some sad stories amongst them.

She failed to satisfy the requirements to stay in the UK ,sad but true.

She however won't return to a war zone or a refugee camp. Her husband can join her if he wishes. She probably doesn't owe tens of thousands to people traffickers.

Britain's Home Office, which is responsible for immigration, told The Sunday Times that Mrs Clennell has no legal basis to remain in the country and that her personal circumstances had been considered. A spokesman said: "As Mrs Clennell has spent the majority of her life, and her married life, living in Singapore, it is deemed she will not face reintegration issues upon her return."
