No, your insurance is invalid without an MOT (except for driving to an MOT center).

And it has to be a single journey from home to the test centre, no stopping off on the way as that's two journeys.
Saw a guy get done for something similar in RAF Laarbruch many moons ago...

^^ This. So you can't drive from Leeds to London, do a 4 days contracting, then drop the car in for MOT on the way home.

Bit expensive though, going to the States for an MOT?

If you are stopped and fined I assume you could take this out of your chauffeurs wages? Would it not be simpler just to by a new roller.

                  Not true.

Just because you don't have an MOT doesn't mean your car isn't roadworthy, and it works the other way round. MOT just proves the car was roadworthy on the day and time it was tested.

For example if someone crashed into you, your car was 3 years old and for some reason you had it fully serviced 2 weeks ago then you could argue it was road worthy. The issue would come if you wrote off your car.

On the other hand I worked with someone who was told by the police that even though the car had an MOT it wasn't roadworthy and he needed to get it off the road asap.

You can keep booking MOTs near your home and work to make sure you are covered for each leg of the journey.

WTF is an MOT? Is that what poor people do on old cars?
