Sturgeon's obsession with continuous referendum's has been despite the mood of Scotland not being on her side. Scotland has spoken, they don't want to leave the UK, they don't want another referendum. It seems to me they'd rather leave (or stay in) the EU with the UK rather than outside.

Complete misjudgement on her part. SNP needs to move on with looking after the issues that matter in Scotland rather than putting that all on the back burner and constantly sabre rattling about independence. She can probably take some consolation in that the UK will probably now not have a hard Brexit. But IndyRef2 was never about the EU - that was simply her excuse. If the vote had been to remain, she would simply use a different excuse.

Ironic that it is Scotland's votes that will prop up the Tory minority government. Even Sturgeon's rants about Scotland not getting the government voted for are now in the river - if Scotland had not voted in a dozen or so MPs, we would not be talking about a Tory minority government.

just imagine if everyone got out of bed in the morning and said "I declare my apartment in Ludlow independent of the UK with it's own laws, money and tax policies

Funny thing is, that's exactly what you could do.

How do you think fiefdoms of old were created? You stake a claim to somewhere, anywhere you please, and you just make sure you have a big/strong enough army to defend that against those who would disagree with you.

In many ways, our entire history of who conquered where all comes down to "who had the bigger stick".

Would be regarded as a thumping landslide if it was UK wide) Comparing them to the Lib Dems; a gross misrepresentation of the reality. Apart from that the SNP are not the independence movement, its a wider movement than one party.

70% seats does not mean 70% support for independence. Vastly more people voted for pro-union parties than pro-independence.

And not everyone that voted SNP are in favour of Independence.
