Oh Goody they put their most reasonable negotiator on it

I thought it would be someone we couldn't work with due to their unreasonable demands.

They know other countries are watching this right?

Britain will face nuclear fuel shortages, truck queues at Dover and “serious disruption” to air traffic if*Brexit talks fail, the EU’s chief negotiator has warned as he outlined conditions for an “ambitious” UK-EU trade deal.*
In a wide-ranging speech ahead of Article 50*exit talks, Michel Barnier warned Britain it must agree “principles for an orderly withdrawal” before trade talks, including its financial dues and the rights of 4m UK and EU migrants.*

Ffs quit yer moaning . We're leaving thats it. You cretins had an unrealistic idea of British power, now we have to deal with it. It's getting dull, your sudden realisation that our cards aren't the best. Although we do have some.
    Hard Brexit now!

apparently their cards are the best and they don't think anyone will realise that they will be seen as sad losers.

Think its about time the queen created the CommonEurope and showed them how its done.

This of course is a little more direct:

Pay us £50bn or we'll cause air traffic chaos and stop goods at the border, warns the EU: Chief negotiator says UK will pay a heavy price for leaving
EU's chief negotiator Michel Barnier said the UK would pay a heavy price
Government lawyers told Theresa May that UK has no duty to pay a penny towards the EU's ongoing costs after leaving

Dunno why I bother, you're too stupid to be taken seriously. Even SB has some idea of reality.

The UK has existing obligations, and that's that. Other countries are indeed watching. The only way the UK can survive Brexit with the faintest hope of maybe getting its economy back on track slowly over the next twenty years is by making trade agreements with those other countries and trading blocs. If the first thing we do in setting out our stall is to fail to honour our existing commitments, they're hardly likely to want to make arrangements with us, are they? Who would be interested in making a deal with a small and increasingly insignificant country that doesn't honour its commitments?

Aah, snowflake BTW, this should be signed soon: http://eu-japan.com/eu-japan-agreeme...-negotiations/
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

What commitments are we not honouring. Most, if not all, of these commitments are through the various treaties we have signed.

Article 50 says that we are released from these commitments after 2 years if there is no deal.

                  3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period.
As long as we keep paying for 2 years - we are released at end. That's our obligation. After that, we are not obliged to pay a penny.

Article 50 is basically a pre-nup to any divorce (strictly speaking a postnup as we were already an EU member). It's the rest of the EU - who now realise what they agreed to when they signed the Lisbon treaty - that now want to renege upon it.
