The UK splits with Europe - disaster looms

Its 1532. The UK splits with Europe over Papal authority. Disaster. The UK will never be the same again. For the last ~500 years the UK has been a 3rd world country.

Are the same Tudors from a TV series with dubious facts where the King of Portugal shows up with a big nose, unkempt with no teeth.?
