I'm talking from experience and I've discussed this before, the pinch point in England is seeing your gatekeeper GP.
After that we can go private so it doesn't matter.
Currently in my practice it takes a month (!) to see a GP, so obviously something isn't right.
You clearly aren't an emergency otherwise you would make an on the day appointment.

Bit of a steep learning curve for you though.

        Google is your friend.
lots of people write tripe with long words we have your posts to prove that.

Point is most of your customers are getting free prescriptions so won't pay the charge, its privatisation by the front door so I'm not keen. The most likely result is those that have to pay won't go to the Doctor so will make their situation more severe costing more to treat.

Maybe they could charge a missed appointment for everyone? Though as my local hospital likes sending out appointment letters after the appointment or deciding everyone has to queue at the front desk to register for arrival (something they fail to tell you). There would be lots of people charged unfairly.

Make it more efficient, not more unpleasant.

I wouldn't mind if there were private GPs you could transfer your records to, but there don't seem to be any who want to do that and take on relationships with patients, its more lucrative to just get the one offs.

In mY view the NHS has stopped being fit for purpose.
You used to dribble on about how great your Polish doctors were.

This story is not stacking up here.

Right so you think it is fine to get to the point of being an emergency before you see a GP?

I'm amazed sasguru will see anyone who's not on Harley Street. Standards must be slipping.

                  Which Polish doctors?
                  What story is that?

You know your GP just thinks you are a tosser?

Of course no one wants to see you but just in case

If you were a real emergency you would go to A&E, but if you needed a prescription for something now or a condition the doctor wanted to see then you make an on the day appointment.

If you aren't urgent then you can wait and it shouldn't make a difference whether you wait a week or a month.
