    Squinting at the graph in that article, ups and downs aside, it's fairly obvious the overall rough trend (both upper and lower envelopes and average) has been downward ever since the start of 2013.

      That's the % change not total sales. But you do have a point.
      Let's see if sales keep falling throught out the year - like they did in 2011 - that won't be a good sign, since the British economy is dependent mainly on consumption.
      I don't see an upside since wage increases are failing to keep up with rampant inflation cause by the pound's fall.
