Imagine Labour getting in Anyone earning over £30k in the private sector to present themselves for re-education.

On the plus side, it means there won't be any more stealth taxes, right? They'll just cut straight to the chase and increase (Class 4) NI, hypothecate a new National Health and Social Care Solidarity Increment, increase VAT, and bin the higher rate limit increase and CT cuts. No more dividend tax hikes.

    Right?

    Indeed.

At least we know that the Brewsters Millions style 'spend 0.7% of GDP on foreign aid' challenge will continue. I was concerned they might amend it to 'up to 0.7%', to cater for those occasions where suitable do-gooding didn't present itself - maybe even saving the cash for when there was more than 0.7% of GDP's worth to be done?

Trouble with these numbers £30k, £40k - people think that's loads of money. 15 years ago it was loads of money. Today it's just no. Not given the current state of the economy.
