Just got to remember that insurance companies reserve the right to deal with claims as they want. They don't care about your no claims etc. If its easier/cheaper for them to just pay out and not contest they will do even if they "know" the deal.

I've got one of the better Mi-Vue models from Halfords. Was around £135 a couple of years ago. Highly recommended. It also has speed camera alerts plus the software is very good. When playing back the video on a PC you get a map alongside the camera playback plus a picture of the car showing the active g-forces acting on the car in real time. In the event of a crash that's important information as it allows impact and braking info to be recorded even if it's from the side or rear. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

but like I said, you have an accident that's not your fault. 3rd party denies responsibility. Its £1000 to pay for the damage for your car, £1000 to pay for the damage to 3rd party.

Even though you might have evidence that it was absolutely not your fault, it may well be that your insurer will work it out and say, nah not worth the hassle for £1000. I guess they know how it costs them is proving they're right as opposed to just paying the garage after all.

Without a dashcam you stand much less chance of getting a claim settled in your favour. If you have an expensive car I view them as essential. I've already had someone make a claim via my dashcam footage even though I was not involved. The accident happened to the two cars in front of me - I just witnessed it.

Great news that you're back in employment, but you need to check back with your Benefits Adviser. Child Benefit doesn't automatically disappear because you're in work. It doesn't start to taper off until you or the missus earns 50k!
