Listening to a phone in with lots of upset Tory voters.

One woman has pointed out if they do bring in the policy then she will have to resort to the state helping her out as she has had to give up work to look after the other parent who doesn't have dementia.

Mayor of Manchester - Andy Burnham - pointed out it would be fairer to raise the levy as a percentage on everyone's estate.

Are you including the ones you only borrowed from the BNP?

Latest poll has the Tory lead cut to 14%, I dare say that it might drop a little further.

If the trends continue they could end up with a majority of approx. 17.

        I'm alright Jack

The policy doesn't solve the social care problem. There are adults who don't have dementia and are of working age who require social care but can't get it.

Backlash on the free school lunch being removed now starting.

Free breakfasts are being offered instead but breakfast clubs aren't free as they have to pay for the wages of the staff.

What about paying for it out of child benefit!

It seems quite an interesting strategy, that people are lapping up, to concentrate on the middle classes and their usual health and money concerns.

The Tories, in the past 7 years - with worse changes forthcoming - have denigrated the disabled and the extremely poor of our society. If you're lucky to have no disabled or extremely poor friends or relatives, then perhaps perform some charity work and acquire detail of the way in which these purposefully destructive policies are aimed at destroying the spirits of many of these people. People - humans, with feelings, pasts and also futures.

I notice few people seem to comment on this in the election threads; why is this?

The methodology for analysing whether someone was fit for work was a national disgrace, yet it continues under other various guises now.

If you vote Tory, you are part of the above and complicit in these actions. If the above does not bother you, you need to have a good look in the mirror, ideally after contacting with disabled and extremely poor people, whose aim is to get up in society. These are people in your own geographic area, who have lives more difficult on a day to day basis than most of us can imagine. Yes, some have minor disabilities that are, at best, a pain to possess. However some have horrendous disabilities and were still seen massive delays to their payments, or no payments at all, with numerous appealing and also many who lost their lives early as a result. You may think a government would be accountable for that, but as you will be aware, no prosecutions have yet taken place.

5% of these people, aggregate - from investigations, are thought to be "conning the system". Why would you wish to damage the vast majority of 95% who are surely fully entitled to such disabled benefits, assistance, care-worker help and aid to push on in society and better themselves?

                    Disgrace.

This forum has a small population of brain dead idiots who think that because they turn over £120K through their ltd and drive a Beemer or an Audi that they are 'one of us' with the tories and tory cuts only hurt the workshy and poor. I think the official name for it is 'being thick as f**k'.
