You are right. There is also a great difference between the Bible and the Koran. The Bible is a collection of stories with some references to God,s law. The Koran is in its entirety are the words of God and God,s instructions. If all Muslims followed the word of the Koran, then they would all be extremists like ISIS. It is a paradox.

Examples are that the Koran says that if a fly falls into your drink, you must push the whole fly in because one wing contains the antidote to the fly's poison. Muslim universities spend much time trying to prove this. Then there is Mohammed who split the moon, OMG. The stories given to prove that one. Rape can be used as a punishment, they are all there to read.

You've got a very interesting interpretation of the Bible.
Many "Christians" believe it is "The word of God" and treat the whole book as such. They do not treat it as a series of stories with some laws in it.
Jewish people tend to treat the "Old Testament" as separate parts - "the law" (Torah) and "the prophets"

Theologically he's right, the Bible and Koran are fundamentally different.

Some fringe elements (exceptions) of Christianity believe the Bible to contain the infallible word of God - in Islam, the Koran IS the infallible word of God, full stop.

Nope, not "fringe elements (exceptions)" as you put it. Since you'll probably claim to have studied the Bible in the same way you claim to have studied the Quran, then you'll know that the Bible says it is the word of God.

Ideologically, where does the Bible state it's the word of God in its entirety? "And God said..." doesn't count.

Since you've studied it, you know exactly where it says it. (Clue: It's in Paul's second letter to Timothy)
...And there's nowhere in it where it says that parts of it are not "the word of God".
