      A tempting idea but not enough money for someone with a degree.

      There are 6000 detective vacancies in the Met apparently at the mo [Nick Ferrari LBC this morning], so seems like a good idea.

        Incidentally in each part of London the met police currently know who is likely to be involved in what crimes. In many cases they know who are the likely suspects.

        Retired DCs don't want people straight in because they won't be aware of nuances like this in the patch they serve.

        Anyway the Met Police advert is now on the BBC. Strange coincidence that the program started a week before this announcement......
