Conservative candidate Craig Mackinlay charged over election expenses

Craig Mackinlay, who is running for South Thanet in the general election on 8 June, has been investigated for alleged overspending in the 2015 General Election campaign.

His election agent and a party activist have also been charged.
It was the constituency Nigel Farage was standing in.

I think I read somewhere that they'd imported activists from the States to canvass on behalf of the Tories in that constituency.

Something else that is against the rules, I believe.

So if they hadn't cheated, Farage would have won?

Seems like there should be a "cheating in the public interest" exemption for cases like that.

        Probably not.

People were holding their noses and tactically voting in places where UKIP were strong.
