Brisvegas gets extremely humid in summer - but it's not coastal so you have to swim in the river. And it's as boring as batsh1t.

The goldcoast is full of chavs.

One interesting thing about QLD is that they have different drinking laws compared to the other states. In other states the barman is personally liable if caught serving an intoxicated person. But in Brisbane this law does not apply -so the pubs are just like the UK - full of smashed up chavs!

    Enjoy!
I'm not doing pubs (I barely drink at all now). I want to surf with sharks, buy a yacht and enjoy life and nice weather.

No russian nukes, no brexit, no crisis after crisis

Oh, and the Aussies don't like foreigners. So expect a good deal of barracking- but you're probably used to that if you've lived in the UK.

Brisbane is not hugely multicultural - it's a bit redneck.

Why move abroad when all this uncertainty is going to mean more businesses using contractors rather than taking on permies.

Then again, if you all flounce off the rates will go up, so crack on. Australia is great. Great 'beer' (Fosters) and the accent is just music to your ears, if you like scratching fingernails down a chalk board, oh and they have plenty of Jaws too. Good choice.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Sailing off QLD is crap. The winds aren't good enough until you head up to the stump.
If you mean you want a motorboat, not a yacht, then go for it
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Nobody drinks what you know as Fosters in Australia. It's too weak for the hard drinking Aussies.

Australia is a great place. But to do it properly as a middle aged guy you need to go there with millions.

              It'll all end in tears.

Problem is , theres no way to make millions in the UK. It just doesn't offer there oportunities anymore

Not now. You should have bought property in the 90s

                    I know. Exactly.

Australia seems emerging. Population grows, probably will find few niches that I can create business on. Here everything is saturated, businesses already estabilished. Australia is growing (thanks to china).

                      Not true.

You just have to broaden your horizons.

In answer to the question, I am considering part travelling and working in NZ for a couple of years.
Perm rates around £100K mark in my specialism.

Would obviously close the company before I go.
