You do know there are several different hard men lurking?

The IRA where better at causing disruption. They also preferred to target the UK government, armed forces and police over members of the public with their bombs.

Can even see trouble flaring up in Scotland with them orange order marches, they'll be smugger than ever with their new support. Or that's how it'll be painted.

Too much time has been spent on the peace process for David Cameron to screw it up in a unwarranted Tory referendum.

Firstly, impartiality is about the Good Friday Agreement, not simply about the current circumstances. Secondly, with regard to the current circumstances, the British government can make conditions more or less likely for a return to power sharing - Tory / DUP agreement makes the conditions less likely.

Having said that, Sinn Féin are looking for a good dose of Westminster rule anyway so that the Brits can get the blame for the inevitable hospital closures and other cuts. In one way this plays into their hands. But, on the other side of the argument, the DUP may extract additional funds from Westminster. So it's interesting to watch with so many factors in play.

But... this doesn't do the British government much credit as an 'honest broker' as per the requirements of the Good Friday Agreement.

They've been running round murdering people for the last few years - it just you don't often get to here about it. Oh and Corbyn would be happy for Sinn Fein to prop him up - if only they took their seats.

Hmmm. The victims of the Warrington and Enniskillen bombs would disagree with you there.

Possibly. But it really is unthinkable that he would do a deal with them. All academic as they won;t take up their seats.

....and if he did it would be just as wrong, I think either party should go for a minority government and simply see whether they get the votes.

I'm against Brexit but I wouldn't want to see the Northern Ireland process break down to thwart it. I'd rather suffer the dire consequences of Brexit.

Yes. May should have the courage to say to DUP: No deal with you, but you support us or get Corbyn.
