Why are we are allowing the French and Chinese to build our Nuclear Power Plants?

The UK companies that built nuclear power stations have long since gone bust. There haven't been any British companies that can build power stations since the end of the 1980's.

Building power stations was not something the British could do well, British built power stations were the "Austin Princess" of the industry. Nobody wanted to buy them.

I bought a steamer from China, it had dodgy wiring and broke after a couple of goes. This is not a good indication for the quality of their nuclear power building capability. I for one would not want to live near a station built by the Chinese and I'm pretty certain it's floors would be dirty and not steam cleaned.

Actually it wasn't that much gold to begin with, given the size of our debt it would do nothing at current prices. Perhaps pay for a few more Tory elections.
