      Back in the day went on a trip to Dale Barracks near Chester with school

      We did a number of Army type things - including having a go with an SA-80 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SA80)

      Which was fun

      Was about 14

                A little young but - kids taught about the responsible use of weapons, and using toy guns - hardly a bad thing. Shooting is a proper sport after all.

                    Responsible use for a 7 year old would be "Never ever point this at a person". I'm not sure "Here, aim at this picture of a terrorist and remember, kids, only ever shoot at what you don't mind killing" quite fits the bill
