Then he really needs a visit to NLyUK.

I really wish I knew why he was getting so upset.

Maybe he has never done much time in the city?

Where giving someone a little, medium, or large drink is all part of oiling the wheels.

Suggesting otherwise is an insult to the historical way of carrying out business up in town.

I don't agree with bribes. However I do agree with oiling the wheels.

Anyway, as I said, I dropped the idea very quickly. It seems most agents are more moral than I thought.

You could of course suggest to the agent, having talked through your CV and why you are perfect for the role, that should you be successful you would have to celebrate with them over a few beers. Say it in a jovial way. No bribe intended and they might be up for putting you forward.

The problem with a money offer, especially as high as £500, is their company ethics policy won't let them accept it without reporting it. Hence they won't be allowed accept the money, but a few beers would not need to be reported

You are doing it all wrong .

The agent always pays for the hookers, coke and the beers.

No the supplier does, we call it Rolls Royce hospitality as its like Gillette ( & NLyUK) - the best a man can get!

In the perm world you would indeed be correct, however there are a few agencies that have treated me, as a contractor, to a good night out.

Good agents that have also helped me make very good money, in the past, so all good there.
