For assurances read state aid, which becomes legal once we Brexit. Komrade Korbyn won't hesitate to give millions to the Japanese manufactures to build cars here all so we can say we have a car industry. British tax payers subsidising cars for the rich counties of the world. Excellent.

The point is after this trade deal is signed Japan will have tariff free access to export cars to the EU, whereas the UK will still need to negotiate that. Germany of course will get tariff free access for their car exports to a market twice the size of the UK.

You need to think about that in particular as to how this will impact the UK´s negotiating position.

Because Germany IS the EU, and their car sales is all that matters.

Well we're subsidising a French power company and Chinese labour/employment through the increasing cost of a white elephant of a power station. We're British I suppose we've got loadsa of money. Really does make one wonder why we had a gripe with EU fees in the first place.

Protectionism from the EU side doesn't appear to extend to protecting the sort of stuff that the UK makes and exports to the EU (and neither should it if we're leaving).....

So Japan wants EU farming equipment. Wait a minute... JCB makes farming equipment too don't they? Indeed, it's on their webpage. Their director was also a staunch supporter of Brexit. I remember the jingoistic mugwump on TV.
