The fact they raised the cash to have this done elsewhere, plus doctors have now offered to do this for nothing means they should at least try.
I think the idea that parents own their child and therefore can do whatever they want with them is a very dangerous one, and this is straying into that category. There is and needs to be a greater authority.

The money raised and the time being given could be used to save someone else who does have a chance.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Indeed. The family courts have already decided that it is entirely up to the Mother.

There is no idea that parents own a child, but parental right confer duties and authority, including the right to consent to have or withdraw treatment. However, the courts can intervene if necessary to acquire these rights in whole or in part (broadly speaking).

But give them a break over raising the money. I can't imagine what it's like.

Shouldn't there be unlimited money for life?

We are trying to have a sensible discussion here.

So if you disagree then where do you draw the line?

                https://www.theguardian.com/science/...earch.children

Should that be taken into account?

Just to echo what MF says, the rule book is torn up for your own children.

Which is why it shouldn't be up to the parents.

Difficult I know, and there's nothing at all positive about any of this, but blaming God would be a more practical solution than infinite money.

But it should be up to parents. Dispassionate jaffas shouldn't be making decisions.

Money is also just a human construct. How much is a human life worth in your opinion? £50, £500, £5000, £1.3M ??? Please do enlighten us oh wizened sage.

So how do you feel about Jehovah's Witness parents refusing consent for blood transfusions for children? The courts intervene then.
