Well if the German car industry goes down the plug hole then it will motivate them to shut out the UK from the EU so they can pick up some of the lucrative finance industry.

We’re going to have to move several hundred jobs" as a first response to Britain’s plan to leave the EU, Dimon said Tuesday at a conference in Paris. “People should focus more on the second step, because what happens next is totally up to the EU.”
“If the EU determines over time that they want to move a lot more jobs out of London into the EU, they can simply dictate that," he said.I'm alright JackComment

There's roughly 2 million workers in the UK financial services. You know real people, with things like wives, families, houses, friends, lives in the UK. Are these going to be uprooted en-masse and "Forced" to go and live in Frankfurt? Are they fookers like.
You can't just shift one of the worlds oldest banking and finance industries like you can move Dyson production over to a Chinese factory.Originally posted by Nigel Farage MEP - 2016-06-24 04:00:00"I hope this victory brings down this failed project and leads us to a Europe of sovereign nation states, trading together, being friends together, cooperating together, and let's get rid of the flag, the anthem, Brussels, and all that has gone wrong."Comment

Of course you can keep all the financial institutions you like in the UK, most of them are majority state owned anyway. But a large chunk of their business will have no choice but to move to a EU location. So they can either move part of their operation and staff or lose the business. Not to mention the non-UK institutions that hold no allegiance to the union jack.Comment
