    Some people are desperate

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Just found this on LinkedIn. Do you think these type of contractors are ruining it for the rest of us?

        Market forces etc.

There is hardly anything in the world that someone cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price alone are that person's lawful prey.

Yeah I saw that on LI yesterday, quite a few people pulled him up on about how that crazy low rate may work against him as clients would be wary that if they did take him on at that rate he would still be actively looking and would bail at the first chance he got a decent paying role. The guys desperate as apparently he's been out of work for a month (another hand to mouth contractor!), not sure that his variant of the 'will code HTML for food' will pay off for him

The hand to mouth is crazy. My first gig was on a project with a load of other 1st time contractors. They had 18 months of £400 to £550 pd. Many of them splashed out on Audis, new kitchens etc. When the project ended, on its planned date, the amount of them that wouldn't be able to meet next month's mortgage payment was scary.

Yeah I'm working with a front-end dev who did more than 12 months at 475 a day and splashed it all out. All of it...all gone just as quickly as it came in.

Now he's working here as a permie at 33-34k salary and regularly needs loans from wonga to get to the end of the month.

These are the same people that harp on about the rich/poor divide and blame society for their life decisions.
