You know that the only option is the Audi. X5 5.0d follows a close second

Mercedes lacks oomph within this trio. The ML63 is petrol and so out of contention.

Left field choice is Levante. XC90 is the current fashion car but the D5 slow.

If you do less than 10-12K miles per year - why not consider petrol performance versions.

XC90 is fecked since those lefties decided the biggest diesel will be a four cylinder 2.0 liter with a zillion turbos

Who would work their arse off to get the money for a car costing that sort of money only to have a hair dryer sounding four cylinder ?

      Volvo haven't got a clue

What rules out the x5 for me is it doesn't have the all round air suspension which I have on the current Q7 its very useful it lowers the whole car automatically at high speed and of course you can jack the car up and in tricky situations

The x5 only has air on the back end

A friend has the x6 m50 d and it's nice but no room inside and a rubbish boot

Maybe something not designed to compensate for your tiny knob?

Oddly every time I see a Porsche or some sports car in my area I look to see how old the driver is.

Never been disappointed yet - all the drivers look well over 50.

Diesel cars will shortly be banned from most cities in Germany...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

              And??

Car makers are doing everything they can to get German diesel owners to get new cars particularly VW...

I said Germany, maybe that's a UK thing, get rid of the diesels in countries that don't seem to care too much for the environment (otherwise the UK wouldn't hav eGove as the minister ) Everyone I know here who has bought a new car recently has bought petrol or hybrid.

Or just slow down, relax and enjoy the scenery. Rushing is for permies late for their review meetings.
