Maybe if they monitored the state of the sewers more frequently, it wouldn't have grown to 250 metres.

A job for robots. Both monitoring the sewers and cleaning them up. It's a tulip job but someone doesn't have to do it.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

I don't think Tulip Bot would fancy the gig either to be honest, he's too good for that.

They just increased their inspections from weekly to every other day - this is what happens.

These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

This is Thames "let's pile on the debt" water you are talking about.

Personally they should ban wipe type toilet roll as a start. It is a blot on the environment.

Toilet paper breaks down quickly so doesn't cause this issue. It's the disposal of wet wipes and those antibacterial wipes that block drains large and small. Never, ever flush those. They don't break down sufficiently quickly (assuming they ever will) for sewers to cope. Better yet, don't use them! Boilable cloths are far better for the environment.
