The first rule of aviation is "Takeoff is optional. Landing is compulsory", and a tax investigation for fraud sounds like a hard landing!

    Shoulda, woulda, coulda....

If I have learned anything from these forums is that the world of IT contracting is full of "proper" contractors with no clue how to operate their ltd. So the fact that some pilots fresh out of training getting their first job and asked by their "employer" to sign some documents without realizing what's going on is hardly a surprise.

To do a search, first you need to know that a search is necessary. And what to search for.

If you can write your question down then you can search for the answer.

Assuming you know there is a question... if you're told "This is how we hire people" you'll not know.

Which is why so many people have ended up need help in HMRC Scheme Enquiries . Between "this is how we hire people" and "this is how other people do it" you only have the awkward people left...

It seems if they did not do this then the piltos would not get a gig with Ryanair.

Hopefully, like the EBT schemes, the burden will fall on the employer.

    And on the CEO personally.
