Builders hit record high after £10bn Help to Buy boost  | This is Money

10bn cost. Did the govt find 10,000,000,000 old pound coins down the back of the sofa at No. 10?

Or are they thinking about billionaire Tory housebuilder / landowner party donors again?

          £10,000,0000,0000

At £1000 / sqm build / land cost that is 1 million square metres of accommodation.

Especially if you build prefab. The Manshack was £5K for 20sqm.

Why not just build 50,000 20sqM houses?
No its not big but that is more than enough to live in.

Instead of handing out cash to the ponzi scheme.

TBF, the 10bn is to guarantee loans that will be repaid over time, so unless the housing market goes tits up from irrational exuberance precipitated by, say, HMG stoking a housing bubble, everything should be fine.

Amazing how they can find 10bln to keep their buddies happy while forcing cuts elsewhere, affecting many millions of people, to try to balance the budget.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.
