The entire point of such investigations is to show they weren't lying.

This is also why you get 20,30, 40 and 50 somethings going to the police and pursuing their cases through court to see their now pensioner teacher/sports coach/vicar etc convicted.
Whether they were lying or not, the past cannot be changed.

I agree strongly in pursuing claims were the perp is still alive.

It is part of healing for the victims.

Especially as some of them would have had parents, siblings and other close family members who would have told them to "stop telling lies".

And sometimes it is attention seeking/money seeking/"I have the biggest disability".

Anyway, since the victims were boys, what do you care?

No it isn't. The point is to find out whether or not they are lying.

And the vast majority of those making claims about historical abuse by celebrities and catholic priests are indeed lying, to try and obtain financial compensation!

The man can't defend himself. A little decency wouldn't go amiss.

Anybody old enough will remember that Heath was also a very accomplished bandleader and it was common to see him pop up on various light entertainment shows throughout the 1970s.

Was he in full satanic garb with a living child on the altar?

No, the occasion I remember featured a glockenspiel duet with Patrick Moore.
