Upon catching a moped villain do the vigilantes:

    a) Look him in the eye and give him a jolly good telling off.
"You've been a very naughty boy. Please don't do it again or we'll tell your mother. On your way now you rascal"

    or

    b) First hit the little f***** hard in the balls with a baseball bat. As he falls to the ground rip off his helmet, stamp hard on
his neck and break his f******g arms, the f*****g worthless c**t.
Say "We're gonna make you pay you fu**ing piece of sh*t!"
Hang the little fu**er until dead using rope and the nearest lamppost.
Say to his lifeless body "You piece of sh*t. We'll show you fu**ing acid"
Dissolve his body completely using sulfuric acid.

or something in between - and who make the rules and decides the limits ?
How can we be sure the moped rider is the villian?

Could be a bit rough on Domino delivery riders.....

Back in the day, a lot of us were menaces to society on our FS1Es, Gileras etc. Always getting stopped by plod too. Never nicked anything though, just put the wind up a lot of old ladies.

And there is the difference - you were not committing any crime.... although possibly
          reckless driving

these scrotes are specifically committing crime on mopeds knowing that they will not be chased by the police in case they fall off and hurt themselves and then blame the police.... while the community starts riots because he didn do naffing.

the problem with vigilantism is that it is uncontrolled - and as has often happened before cases of mistaken identity have caused problems.

but meh if you catch a scrote on a scooter in the middle of committing a crime feel free to beat the living crap out of them.

Can't we just lump them into one group based on their skin colour or religion?
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

I have to confess that I have limited knowledge of this particular phenomenon. Are people suggesting most of the perps are black or something?

Croydon 'leading the way' in the fight against London's moped crime issue, new figures show - Croydon Advertiser

DS Ryan explained how moped crime, which was largely confined to north London 20 years ago, has spread south and is now dominated by young offenders.

He said: "We don't tend to see a distinction by race or ethnicity – the main identifiers are age and gender with suspects mostly reported as males aged between 13 and 18 and our average charge age being 15.

"This is not a new crime – we have arrested young men whose dads did the same thing 25 years ago. The difference now is that it used to be a localised phenomenon in north London areas like Islington and Camden, where even two decades ago there was a 24/7 economy with commuters, tourists and the nightlife.
Henry Hicks the one that died was white:

                https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...-inquest-hears

DS Arvinder Marwaha told St Pancras coroner’s court that he had recovered seven bags of skunk cannabis from a carrier bag found in Hicks’s clothing, with a street value of £70-£140.

In addition, messages retrieved from Hicks’s iPhone and two Samsung mobile phones he had been carrying showed he had sent a message to 67 people saying he had skunk available. He had also received messages asking if he had drugs.

To his police colleague who downloaded the data from the phones, DS Marwaha said, “it was evident that Mr Hicks was in essence a drug dealer”.
Its one of those crimes that is growing rapidly and needs a strong and sensible response.

I think we need shotgun based stingers or similar.

Henry Hicks was innocent and the police murdered him after constantly hassling him - according to his family.

I suspect the Police side is more credible after due process and a full trial.

I do however sympathise with the family for their loss.
