Why is the thread on Daily Mail intimidation of Universities closed?

I can understand some of the other silly threads being closed, but that is a serious issue.
    Hard Brexit now!

Why are universities abusing their power to support political gains by giving biased lectures about brexit?

      Where's the proof of that?

Remarkably +1. The idea that any mp thinks letters like the one he wrote are a good idea shows how poor our MPs are.

Mind you no one in their right minds would be an mp in the modern world so I suppose we get what we deserve

It was closed because the moderators of this forum are getting sick to the teeth of the constant threads about Brexit. While we try to work on an acceptable solution we're just going to do our best to keep this place a bit more civil

Fair enough, I can understand that.
Why not delete or lock any threads that don't make any new points?
There's going to be a rash of news in the next few months about the single most important issue in modern British times - are we supposed to ignore that?

Indeed, 50% of the newspaper headlines are about "it".

It's a bit like banning threads on the 2 world war during the 2nd world war.

We are considering setting up a section of the forum just for discussing it.
Yes, it is possibly the most important thing to have happened since the war, but most of the threads on here regarding it are not discussions or debates but attacks/rants, which tend to reinforce divisions.

You mean like in parliament, in the newspapers, on the radio and on TV.

I mean we're expected to sit through endless radio shows with the likes of Katie Hopkins, Julia-Hartley Brewer and Nigel Farage ranting at us.

For the last 20 years I've had to endure endless Eurosceptic rants every time I visit Britain.

                  I'm alright Jack

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
