If that's all it takes to seed a righteous idea then may there be providence ahead for the UK and its inhabitants. Cause right now the people are the last thing the state seems to care about.

    What do we want? Republic!

    I can't hear you.

BBC (and probably most, if not all, other news outlets in the UK who are scared to say anything negative about their 90+ year old undemocratic appointed leader)keep on telling that the Queen's investments off shore are not illegal, but at the same time condemning every body else who put some money over there, bunch of hypocrites

Mustn't forget the Guardian, Branson or The Backbencher – A Brief History Of Labour Tax Avoidance

Avoidance for the few not the many.

But hey lets turn it into a discussion about the Monarchy and how we should have a republic.

I guess you could if you tried to avoid paying the tax that you already pay on a voluntary basis anyway, despite being exempt.

Hey, lets not make it a party political issue :

The rich can do what they want. Both regarding tax and criminal offences.

For the poor it is different.

The difference is that The Queen voluntarily pays tax on all her income, including that from the Duchy of Lancaster, despite the fact that she is actually exempt from all taxes, as every monarch has been all the way back to Egbhert in around 830 AD.

And why should there be such a difference?
