    UK food inflation at 4.1%

    It's going to get ugly.

Still Jacob Rees Mogg will be further uplifted as more people turn to food banks.

pound falling again and wait until WTO rules come in imported food will go up by 20% (and Uk grown food will also go up as therewon't be any Eastern Europeans anymore who will do the the harvesting/butchering)

I invested a basket of glossaries in a food bank and then I found out there was no interest.

Everyone will be goin' down to Wetherspoons April 2019 for cheaper beer and grub ...

"Mr Martin claimed a no deal Brexit could save Wetherspoon punters 3.5 pence per meal"

"A Brexit no deal will lead Britons to make savings on food and drink, Tim Martin, chairman of Wetherspoons claims.
If the UK leaves the EU without a deal in March 2019, we can abolish tariffs on food imports from non-EU countries AND maintain tariff-free imports from the EU as well.
World Trade Organisation rules, which apply in the absence of a deal, allow us to do this, contrary to the urban myth that unscrupulous Remoaners have concocted.”

The further decline in sterling following a No-Deal outcome would further increase food prices.

A few years ago food inflation was around 10%. The poor just seemed to bend over without lube.

The percentage of basic food grown in the UK compared to the total consumed has been declining steadily for years, and a year or two ago dipped under 40%

No doubt the half a million new houses that need building for all the recent immigrants will reduce that percentage even further, and fuel food inflation.

Why will imported food go up by 20%? I'm hoping to get a well thought out researched answer
