It's worth looking at who is behind medical research articles and knowing the authors funding and political affiliations. The articles particularly those posted on any NHS website are not neutral.

It's all about moving the bell curve, so that the peak moves away from heavy drinking towards tee-totallism. The idea is that if you can shift the peak, then you'll move people out of the "at risk" band, and so overall you'll have fewer alkies.

Whether there's any good science behind this, I've not a clue!

No, there'll just be a hell of a load more people on prescription meds to make up the shortfall in quick fixes, and a hell of a lot of ex-MPs on the dole because all the voters are furious that some f*cktard has jacked up the price of their G&T.
