His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Over the last few months we have lost the likes of EO, Suity, assguru, and NLYUK has gone a bit quiet.

So it hasn't ALL been bad!!

The forces of cretinism have taken a good battering. However the fight against them must not be let up.

          Is it the moderators?

Or is it that the world is changing and stuff which as said on these forum's five years ago would now 'cause offence' and so 'is not allowed'

It's interesting how 'freedom of speech' has been replaced with 'freedom of speech as long as you no longer express an opinion which some people may (without justification) take offence to'

It's easier to blame the mods.

...but something happened a couple of years ago that created massive division on the forum, and the fallout from that stifled a lot of friendlier discussion and will do for years to come.

but its easier to blame the mods.

I think the mods have been heavy handed in the past and they get called out for it, but generally I think they have a tough job to keep the conversation going and not spiral. I don't think they are the problem.

Before the big B, it was seen as a bit sad to moan and whinge all the time, grumpy old git syndrome. But the big B made it ok for people to get really down and just let rip. It's not just here, I had to unfollow (not unfriend) a guy on facebook because he suddenly went on mad rants about politics, state of the uk, government etc, but constantly.

But on the other side people that felt PC had gone too far felt they had a chance to speak out about issues about race, culture and immigration. This offends people that have different views and we have had some strong arguments that leave people emotionally drained. Why would you want to enter into a discussion when you are going to be insulted and called a moaner or a racist.

And it's a shame because we have some real positives in this country that should be celebrated but we also have some big issues like health care in this country that need to be addressed. The wealth divide in this country between the poor and the rich is frankly disgraceful.

Anyway, to leave this on a note we can all agree on, the potholes are getting worse and we need something done about it.

The moderators are far better than the previous moderators. They would all resign except for the incriminating photos admin has.

Apparently Germaine Greer from speaking due to slightly dodgy views!

You are like a restaurant owner wondering why they are going out of business after years of regular customers saying they are not coming back as the food is tulip.

Your delusion is absolute. The feedback has been constant and invariably always points at the mods.

Not read the site in 10 months, found this thread on page 7, over 20 days since the last post, those numbers are brutal. You have managed to completely bugger the site by haranguing the most prolific posters.

There is a business reason for this forum being here, it drives traffic for the advertising. If i was admin I would have booted you and Annie a long time ago.
