Mission to disable the tracker - failed
Mission to get a shield code breaker - failed, but stumbled upon another saviour in the same cell despite there only previously being one person known to have the required skills.
Mission to destroy the big gun - U-turned at last minute.

Luke basically moped around on an island and did nothing but offer a temporary distraction via force projection. No wonder the actor was unhappy with his level of involvement in the two movies. Such a waste of potential.

Overall not that bothered about watching it again and not really got much to look forward to in the next movie. More Rey/Ren showdown.

That's what happens when you put a director in charge of also writing the story.

I wonder if JJ Abram, directing/writing the next movie, will do a 'dallas shower scene' to undo some of the poor decisions.
Was he? I follow him on twitter and not noticed any critical comments. Quite the opposite.

He had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

I thought Hammil turned in an excellent performance and I'm no fan of his. Always felt he was the weakest actor of the main 3.

I read (so heresay ) he was unhappy with his small part in Force Awakens, and told the director/writer of Last Jedi he didn't agree with any of the decisions made for Luke.

Though I also read he wasn't really interested in appearing in the new trilogy and only did it if Harrison Ford agreed to also appear. Can't see that personally as he's always seemed to enjoy the attention of being famous for Luke. He's not done a lot else acting wise over the decades.

So yes, probably all internet bollox.

I'm disappointed mainly due to the large gap between the original trilogy and the new one, so we never really saw Luke as a proper Jedi taking on the resurging evil empire. Luke did say to Rey whether they (the rebels) expected him to take on the whole lot of baddies himself. No, but it would have been good to see him cut through them like a hot butter through knife.

Feels like the legend of Luke they were setting up at the very end of Last Jedi hasn't been earnt. We barely saw a glimpse of his capabilities. A missed opportunity.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Not sure about the rest but he admitted in an interview he want that fussed about coming back but said he’d only do it is Harrison came back (safe in the knowledge he never would)

Trust me, Disney won't have missed it, a few years down the line they'll probably revisit it with an "Original Star Wars Story". They have $4,000,000,000 to recoup.

The sequel trilogy was never about the Skywalkers, so it was always going to be a gentle nod to the past rather have them as any major story arc

what a mess of a movie

**** SPOILERS **** The Last Jedi was such as mess, it's almost like the David Lynch's 'Dune' of the Star Wars movies but Dune was actually good. Laura Dern looking out of place like she's lost on her way to the set of The Hunger Games, Luke Skywalker portrayed as a hobo who dies alone on a stone slab on a remote island by what looks to be 'jerking off', lame frantic comedy in the casino scene, building up characters to be something 'special' and then we get to know nothing about them before they die (Snoke/Captain Phasma), pointless / underutilized characters such as Benicio del Toro's (was he still playing the guy in 'The Usual Suspects' ?), General Hux (learn to act, your dad should have taught you better and you were good in Ex Machina so why not in this movie?), Rey the "Mary Sue" of the movie, no historical connection to anyone in the universe she's just some girl off the street who can't act as she doesn't have the experience on her C.V. and/or the talent, cringeworthy attempts at humor - Poe Dameron trolling General Hux using a hoax call, Luke Sky Walker tossing a light saber over his shoulder rejecting it, R2D2 spitting out casino coins like a vegas fruit machine. I hated it, hated it, hated it.

Let's see how well they do with the Han Solo movie first.
