This is totally ignorant. Base model maybe a bit lacking for performance but there are decent engines in the range.

Just picked up a T8 and I can assure you it has plenty of lift. With two kids in the back, couldn’t really care but the hybrid is engine is great.

In that case a custom VW T5 Transporter with the chipped TSi engine to get it up to Golf R standard and some sensible additions, 4WD and the DSG gearbox will cost about the same and stand out from the crowd a little.

It's not like you]re buying something just to pose in after all...

Yeah great suggestion. Pimp up a T5 so it 'goes like a Golf R' then sit at 60 on dual carriage ways and 50 on A roads, getting overtaken by barry boys, coz that's the legal speed limit for vans.

Been trying to decide what to get for sticking bicycles in the boot myself. More secure than leaving them on the roof when out for a run before a cycle. Figure a hearse is best option. Not as boring an image as a typical estate car and won't get road ragers bothering me for undertaking them on the motorway.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Every time this blasted BCU gets the slightest bit damp, after I drive through a puddle or simply after a few days of damp weather, things start failing all over the place.

The newer ones don’t have that problem. I had th same issue with my 02 plated l322. Bin bags resolve it.....

The v8 engined diesels apparently don’t have the same problems. According to the mechanic who sorted mine.
Failing that a disco 3 is a much better drive than I have credit. Better than the v8 rr vogue gas guzzler. Get it chipped and it motors.

EDIT: If you must have petrol then I'd look at the 5l V8 supercharged RR.

These Q7s, Volvos, etc are all a bit shabby (and small) after you've had a Vogue and not all of them are bad.

If it's got rear windows and seats for passengers it's not a van. HTH...

Same rules apply. Or do what my triathlon mate does and ride there, then run, then ride home.
