Plans for the 2021 census have just been released and, next time, the Government is planning to gather details of all our income, investments and other assets.

This is the first step towards introducing a wealth tax and a local income tax, so that the 'rich' pay more.

    We can but hope.....

Don't tell 'em Pike! This will be the precursor to the great Corbyn asset grab.

Recently had a 'for your benefit' and 'government requirement' request from Barclays to validate my data which included questions about employment and income and tax Perhaps this data is already being collected to shape more innovative tax reforms the form was binned rather than filled in

Be careful as your account may be terminated. Note the HSBC thread.

On a different note, a friend of a friend called into a benefit interview. His tesco spending pulled out from his clubcard.....

Dunno about the fake news or whatever it was you were crowing about, but Littlejohn is right on the button about the census.

At least William the Conqueror was honest with his Domesday census, with no BS about improving public services for serfs!

As another example, this rent deposit scheme landlords have to use was touted as a benefit for tenants. But obviously the real reason the Government bothered introducing it was solely to identify those renting rooms or property, so these people could be taxed!

Sometimes you sound a bit idiotic, or at the very least thoughtless

As a contractor, you're one of "the rich" as far as the Government is concerned. So do you really want to be paying more tax?

I can understand why you found that hard to follow, so here's a simple step by step guide.

    1. Read this.
    2. Southend News Network is a satirical site
    3. Littlejohn thought the report was real and republished it. Because he's an idiot with zero capacity for critical thinking,*

    HTH.

More likely he knew it was facetious and carried on the joke which is why he is a world renowned newspaper columnist & you two are just junior mods on a little bulletin board.
