    Remote central heating app

Working away all week so back only at weekends. Current central heating is a good boiler, but crap timer - just daily timings.

So may as well upgrade the timer.

Which is best - Nest or Hive - Any others to consider? I have a local heating engineer who can install, so interested in any deals with with and without installation.

If you hunt on moneysaving expert, there is a trick to get a 50% discount on an installed Nest from British Gas without being a customer.

I have HIVE and reasonably happy with it.

No issues really, it just works. No app for Windows phone but I control via my Ipad.

There is a strong developer community and they have other products like lighting etc which I have not bothered. I think it even integrates with Amazon Alexa but not tried it yet.

Also, the time slots are limited to 8 or something.

          Nest.

Then get some Nest Protect alarms to go with it.

Will try and dig it out this afternoon. I did this myself on my UK home so should have the order email somewhere.

I use Hive, Very happy with it. Had it since 2013.

If I was buying today I'd look at the Apple offering.

                How about a wife:

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

FWIW the wife is the worst of all options. My wife could have it set to 'surface of the sun' setting and she'd still claim it was too cold.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                    I preferred version 1!
